Frequently asked questions about Hide-A-Board ironing centers:
Do they fit between the studs?
All models are designed to fit between standard studs on 16" centers.
What is the rough opening?
For all of our models the rough opening is 14-1/4"W X 48"L
X 3-7/8"D.
How far do the units protrude from the wall?
Less than 3 inches. The Model 195 protrudes 2-1/4" which
includes the frame and the door. The Model 185 protrudes 1-1/2" including
the frame and door, and the surface mount unit protrudes 3" including
door.
Can they be installed at any height?
Yes, all models can be installed at the height of your choice.
The typical working height is 34" - 38" from the floor.
Are they difficult to install?
No. Our ironing centers are very easy to install. It requires
cutting and removing the drywall, slipping the unit between the studs and
attaching it with the 1-1/2" screws provided. Attach door with hinges
provided and your unit is ready to paint or stain to fit your decor.
Are the units prefinished?
Our Models 195 and 185 are unfinished. The cases on the 193 and 205 are primed.
Do I specify what hand to hinge the door when ordering?
No. All of the doors of our units are shipped with the door unattached
and the hinges provided to allow it to be hung to suit your needs.
What are the door dimensions?
Door dimensions for all models are 14" X 47-7/8".
What if I want the door to match my cabinetry?
Units may be ordered with or without a door.
How do I get replacement pad and covers?
Reorder forms are included with the pad and covers provided with each

Can I install my Electrical Package?
We recommend to have your electrician to wire it in the upper left
hand corner of the unit. |
