What about studs?
All recessed models are design to fit between studs on 16” centers.
What is the rough opening?
For all recessed Hide-A-Boards the rough-in size is 14-1/4” X 48”.
How far do these units protrude from the wall?
The model 185 protrudes 3/4”, the models 193 and 195 1-1/2” and the 205 is 2” plus 3/4” for the door in all cases. The surface mounted model 168 protrudes 2” plus the door.
What is the best height for to set the ironing board?
What ever height the owner likes to iron. There is no standard. Typical heights are from 36” to 38”.
Are any of the Hide-A-Boards finished?
The 193 is primed inside and the board is finished, but not the door. The 205 is finished inside but not the door or the frame. The 168 is completely finished in white paint and can be repainted. The others are not finished.
Can the doors be handed in either direction?
Yes. You hang the door to the swing you like.
I want my cabinet maker to make a door that matches the rest of the house. Do I have to use your door?
No. You don’t even have to buy one of ours. We have a no door option. The door size is 14” X 48”.
